Sinulog Fire Dance @ Club Ultima

Cebu will be witness to a unique fire dancing entertainment this Sinulog! Six sexy and sultry girls calling themselves Gogirls will dance, play, eat, twirl, juggle and coy with fire in a sizzling musical variety show dubbed Sinulog Fire Dance. It will be held on Jan. 18 and 19 at the Wang Shang Lo Chinese Restaurant, 20th Level Club Ultima and Jan. 20 at front easement, Crown Regency Hotel and Towers, Fuente Osmeña, Cebu City. Fire dancing is an art form which integrates items on fire into a dance or performance. It has become very popular in the West and now fast gaining acceptance in the country especially during major gatherings. It is often performed to music and only by men due to the risk that it entails. But in this Sinulog presentation it will be all girls performing. Gogirls are originally the Otso-Otso Babes of ABS-CBN’s Magandang Tanghali Bayan. They had been awarded a Double Platimum by Star Records for their three songs in the Mag-Otso-Otso Tayo Bayan album, i.e., Shake Shake, Feeling Gwapo (with Tado), and Otso Otso Pasko (with Bayani Agbayani). They were nominated as ALIW Best Dance Group of Year 2004. Their fan base is nationwide having toured the major malls around the country together with Willie Revillame as well as the wacky duo of Maverick and Ariel. A motorcade passing through the city’s main streets will be held Thursday, Jan. 17 to give Cebuanos a glimpse of the group.
